What Is the Middle School Chronicles (MSC) Tour?

The Middle School Chronicles Tour is a literacy and leadership experience designed to address the real challenges districts face today — including declining reading engagement, rising behavioral concerns, student confidence gaps, peer conflict, and a growing disconnect from goal setting and future planning.

This is not a traditional author visit.

It is a structured literacy + youth development experience that reinforces Social & Emotional Learning (SEL), strengthens student voice, and re-engages middle schoolers with reading and writing in a relatable way.

The MSC Tour is proudly partnered with Hip-Hope Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth empowerment, creative expression, prevention-focused programming, and community development. Through this partnership, we expand access to literacy initiatives for underserved schools and provide nonprofit credibility and grant-aligned support.

Who Is the Program Designed For?

  • Grades 6–8

  • Reading/Writing/Language Arts programs

  • Charter & private schools

  • Youth organizations

Programming is customized to align with your school or district’s literacy and student development goals.

What Will Students Experience?

The MSC Tour is structured around four core impact areas:

 1. Literacy Re-Engagement

Students receive:

  • Real-time writing techniques they can apply immediately

  • Insight into how books are created, published, and distributed

  • Behind-the-scenes transparency on turning ideas into finished work

  • Encouragement for reluctant readers through peer relatability

Because Essynce published her first books while in middle school, students see authorship as attainable — not abstract. This increases reading participation and English Language Arts buy-in.

Outcome Focus:

  • Increased voluntary reading

  • Greater writing confidence

  • Stronger classroom participation

 2. Social & Emotional Awareness

Essynce addresses real student pain points, including:

  • Peer pressure

  • Bullying and social tension

  • Self-esteem challenges

  • Identity development

  • Resilience and accountability

Students are encouraged to move from nonchalance to intentionality — strengthening respect culture and emotional awareness.

Outcome Focus:

  • Reduction in negative peer language

  • Improved behavior awareness

  • Increased student self-worth

 3. Future Planning & Goal Setting

Students are introduced to:

  • Entrepreneurship basics

  • Personal branding

  • Safe and intentional social media use

  • Vision mapping and goal planning

The focus is practical empowerment — not just inspiration.

Students leave understanding:

  • Their creativity has value

  • Their voice matters

  • Their future requires planning

4. Youth Support & Relatable Leadership

Students engage with someone who “sat where they sit.”

Peer-to-peer relatability reduces social tension and increases engagement. The experience bridges youth culture and educational structure in a way students receive openly.

Measurable Impact

Post-event follow-up has demonstrated:

  • Increased reading participation

  • Student writing submissions

  • 85%+ reported inspiration impact

  • Noticeable engagement shifts

Schools may track impact through writing samples, surveys, and literacy participation metrics.

Book Signing Experience

For in-person visits, students receiving books will have the opportunity for signed copies and brief personal interaction.

Can the Tour Be Structured by Grade Level?

Yes.

The MSC Tour may be delivered as:

  • A full-school assembly

  • Separate grade-level sessions

  • Smaller workshop-style groups

If space is limited, multiple sessions can be conducted throughout the day.

What Type of Space Is Required?

Schools must provide:

  • A cafeteria

  • Auditorium

  • Assembly room

  • Media center

  • Or a comfortable space large enough to safely accommodate the student audience

Final logistics are confirmed prior to the event.

What Is Required to Book the MSC Tour?

Booking requires:

  • A minimum purchase of 100 books (any mixture of titles)

  • An honorarium for Essynce

The book requirement and honorarium are separate.

This structure ensures students leave with books in hand while sustaining the literacy initiative.

Can the 100 Books Be Mixed Titles?

Yes. Schools may combine titles across the Middle School Chronicles collection.

What If Our School Does Not Have the Budget?

We understand some schools, particularly in underserved communities, may not have available funding.

Through our partnership with Hip-Hope Inc. and corporate sponsors, select schools may be covered in full or in part based on sponsorship availability.

Schools are also encouraged to seek:

  • PTA/PTO support

  • Local business sponsors

  • Community foundations

  • Literacy grants

If you believe your school may qualify for sponsorship assistance, please indicate this in your inquiry.

Do You Offer Net 30 Payment Terms?

Yes.

We are open to Net 30 payment arrangements for schools that require finance department processing.

  • We will provide all required documentation, including a formal agreement and invoice/quote.
